We at the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation would like pay tribute to the men and women who serve under our nation’s flag. As a salute to their patronage and sacrifice, we dedicate this program to our veterans and those currently serving in each branch of our military.

Gershwin Collection • April 9 & October 8

George Gershwin was one of America’s greatest songwriters. His catalog contains hits of Broadway, Hollywood, and popular recordings. He is the cornerstone of the American Songbook.

American Songbook • April 23 & October 22

Tin Pan Alley got its melody and rhythm from such greats as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, and George Gershwin. This anthology encompasses the best musical and lyrical compositions of our greatest talents.

Big Band Cavalcade • May 7 & November 5

Swing music was America’s first innovative contribution to the world art community. Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, and Benny Goodman were the backbone of the Big Band Era and we celebrate their contributions.
